GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice, support and treatment for anyone affected by problem gambling in Great Britain, including family and friends who are affected. GamCare operates the National Gambling HelpLine and provides a range of treatment interventions across England, Scotland and Wales, funded by GambleAware.

While the main focus of GamCare’s work is supporting those who are struggling with a gambling problem, the organisation acknowledges that to make a sustainable change and ensure fewer people reach crisis point, focus is also needed on risk reduction and safer gambling initiatives. GamCare supports Responsible Gambling Week and is passionate about helping people across the UK make informed choices.

YGAM


The Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) is a national education charity with a social purpose to inform, educate, safeguard and build digital resilience amongst young and vulnerable people, help gin them to make informed decisions and understand the consequences around gambling and gaming.

They achieve this through:

Workshops

YGAM run free, educational workshops on gaming and gambling for anyone who works with young and vulnerable people aged 7-25. They are suitable for teachers, tutors, youth workers, mental-health specialists, prison and probation offices, community volunteers and police officers.

All training sessions have been externally evaluated and are assured by the principal awarding bodies, Pearson, City and Guilds and ASDAN. The resources meet the ten principles of effective Personal, Health, Social and Economic (PHSE) education and Ofsted framework around creating confident, self-assured learners who are prepared for life in the modern world.

University & Student Engagement

YGAM also works closely with universities and students to raise awareness of problematic gambling and gaming, across campus to build digital resilience amongst the students population.
